Description
The Hall of the Guards in the Conciergerie in Paris, France is a former prison. This medieval structure was originally a palace, housing the Kings of France from the 10th through the 14th centuries. Later it became a prison, with Queen Marie Antoinette being its most famous prisoner. It was from here that many prisoners were taken to the guillotine.
